Our short film Horror School made with Year 4 pupils at Brookfield Primary School won the  Grand Prize for Outstanding Film in the 6-12 Live Action category at the Kids for Kids 2014 Film Festival.

I am so excited that "Horror School" ; the  short film I made with Year 4 children from Brookfield Primary School in North London, has been nominated for an award at the Kids for Kids UK Film Competition. I worked with the the kids from conception to completion of the film. They wrote, storyboarded, designed, acted, directed, and edited it all themselves (with just a little help on the way from us!). It's amazing to see everything coming together. The kids are incredible. On top of the production chaos, we have a film team of parents and staff filming everything so we can make a film for the kids to keep! Everyone is very excited.....

The whole school is buzzing with activity. Props and costumes are being made, scenes, songs and dances are being rehearsed, the building is being transformed. We have an amazing design team working with the kids - Hannah Mayall -set, Tabitha Doyle - costume, Oliver Fenwick - lighting, Anna Longmuir - producer,  we have graphic designers, musicians, songwriters, choreographers, photographers..... all from the wider school community. After months of behind the scene work, preparations and rehearsals for Hip Hip Hooray are underway! I am co-directing an ambitious community arts project at a North London Primary School to celebrate their centenary. We are involving all 441 children in the school, all the teachers and support staff and as many parents as have the time! A specially commissioned script, written by Danny Scheinmann, takes us through the last century up until the present day, and moves the audie
