Max Richter

Thank you Max Richter and ACME (American Contemporary Music Ensemble) and the whole team for an incredible tour. I’ve loved every minute of working with all you brilliant people. Incredible venues. Wonderful audiences. Someone who had been to the show messaged me and said “Yours has to be the best job anybody can have on this planet”. I think they might be right! – sitting immersed in this music night by night is a privilege.

Nashville undoubtedly has an energy all of its own. Tour highlight for me to be performing in the iconic Ryman auditorium! What a blast. Wow the musicians that have stood on these boards. Feeling very lucky🍀

Last show of the tour - at the iconic Philharmonie in Luxembourg.

Next leg of the tour Amsterdam, Brussels and Antwerp. We've had such a great reception everywhere we go. Loved the Royal Theatre Carre in Amsterdam... originally built for the circus it has an incredible round auditorium with lush red velvet seats!

Wiesbaden, Hamburg and Munich. The reception the pieces are getting is amazing! Look at the venue in Wiesbaden! The Kurhaus is the most extraordinary place...

I've been performing live with Max for 10 years! It has been such an amazing experience, and a great honour.

First venue of the european tour is the sensational new Opera House in Oslo. Wow. And then on to packed houses in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Delighted to be on the road again with Max in the two fantastic cities of Glasgow and Dublin. Caught up with my dear friend, teacher and mentor the brilliant Maggie Kinlock in Glasgow, and with wonderful friends in Dublin that I made at my yearly pilgrimage to Northumberland to sing with the inspirational band The Unthanks.

Wonderful to be back on tour with Max and the band.

Performing in the stunning ancient ampitheatre on the Acropolis in Athens, just beneath the Parthenon was a career highlight for me. The magical atmosphere as the night drew in and the moon and the stars rose in the sky, with the cicadas singing in the trees. And the deep sense of history that this place exudes.

Back on tour with Max Richter's Blue Notebooks in Madrid and Barcelona, and in yet another spectacular venue - Palau de la Musica Catalana. The Palau de la Música Catalana is an architectural jewel of Catalan Art Nouveau, the only concert venue in this style to be listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Its like being inside an extraordinarily ornate chocolate box, and it was a real thrill to perform there.

I was honoured to narrate a performance of Max's new album VOICES at the Warwick Arts Centre. Inspired by the International Declaration of Human Rights, this was a powerful and emotional evening; our thoughts with the people of Ukraine. Reviewed here.

Always wonderful performing with Max Richter in The Blue Notebooks, alongside the brilliant ACME. You could hear a pin drop in the auditorium tonight. Created a magical and mesmerising atmosphere....

On tour with Max Richter and The 12 Ensemble in Berlin, Frankfurt, Bremen, Dusseldorf and final show in the incredible Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg. Playing in some of the most amazing concert halls I have seen. Feel very lucky to have this experience.

Never thought I'd be performing here! Such a buzz. Thank you Max for bringing me in on this great adventure! I'm loving it......

Another lovely gig narrating in The Blue Notebooks for Max Richter at the Orchestre National de Lille, Auditorium du Nouveau Siècle.

Delighted to be reading on Max Richter's new Album "Three Worlds. Music from Woolf Works". It's a beautiful album.

Its an honour to record some readings for Max Richter's next album.

Lovely festival.... Photo by Jan Van Hecke
