Preparations begin! - Hip Hip Hooray

After months of behind the scene work, preparations and rehearsals for Hip Hip Hooray are underway! I am co-directing an ambitious community arts project at a North London Primary School to celebrate their centenary. We are involving all 441 children in the school, all the teachers and support staff and as many parents as have the time! A specially commissioned script, written by Danny Scheinmann, takes us through the last century up until the present day, and moves the audience through the whole school - from playground, to assembly hall, through the corridors and into the gym hall. Our central character, Flo, is played by a giant puppet designed, made and operated by the children under the expert guidance of puppeteer Catherine Thomas. Here she is being made....
